The Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our UK-based Data Delivery team. Reporting to the Data Delivery Senior Data Manager, this is a pivotal role within a newly created team structure inside our wider data division.
This role would suit a diligent and accurate individual who enjoys working on data solutions and is comfortable acting as a product lead. You will be responsible for processing and distributing one of the data team’s core products, supporting a range of data initiatives, and managing a monthly cadence of data ingestion and processing with meaningful client-facing responsibilities.
You will be encouraged to identify and implement effective methods for processing, aligning and presenting data, while ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to the required standard. Collaboration with senior stakeholders is essential, as is a methodical and committed approach to your work.
This is a hands-on data role for an analyst with a focused data background who can problem-solve, communicate clearly, and take real ownership of a product. We are looking for candidates with 3+ years of experience as a data analyst.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, maintain and develop a dedicated data product.
• Modernise and automate current delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot and triage data issues.
• Communicate and actively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists, data analysts, and others to understand data requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Help foster a dynamic and collaborative team culture.
• Implement best practices and maintain product documentation.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
• Advanced Excel, with proven experience in using functions and automation.
• SQL querying and maintaining SQL databases (SQL Server/MS SQL experience advantageous).
• Experience of querying, extracting and modelling data.
• Diligence and care when manipulating large and repetitive datasets.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Confident and professional stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.
• Ability to manage priorities and work independently.
• Proven track record of delivering to agreed timelines and working under deadline pressure.
• A maths, data, statistics or numeric-based qualification to degree level.
Advantageous:
• Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentals, e.g. star schemas and dimensional modelling.
• Experience of ETL design and tooling.
• Experience with Macros/VBA.
• Ability to mentor and develop individuals.
